Newfound Momentum!

Are you struggling with momentum in your online business?

I felt that way for the past several months. I was working hard studying the steps I needed to take, watching the videos I needed to watch, posting on my primary and secondary platforms. But I felt my momentum was non-existent. I felt like I was not getting ahead.

I started this journey with the idea of making money online. That’s all I wanted to do. That was my reason for starting an online business, but then a shift happened.

As I have mentioned my husband is very ill with Interstitial Pulmonary Fibrosis. This is a rare lung disease for which there is no cure. His only hope for living longer is a lung transplant. We went to Duke Hospital, one of the top hospitals to perform lung transplants, for a weeklong evaluation to see if he is a good candidate for the procedure. He passed all tests except the fact that he was overweight. 20 pounds overweight. Now you may not think that 20 pounds overweight is no big deal, it’s just a few pounds. However, just a few pounds overweight can put a stress on your body and can affect the healing process needed after a transplant.

When the Doctor informed us that because of his weight he was not a good candidate, I broke down. I thought, “How can this be happening to us?”. I am a CrossFit fitness coach and have been for 12 years, how is it that I coach athletes every day on their health and wellness, but I have not been doing that for my husband. I felt like I let him down.

We were informed that the Doctors will see him back in 4-6 weeks for another evaluation and if they see improvement, he may be put on the transplant list.

Well, let me tell you, that was all I needed to hear. I started researching and learning all I could on healthy eating. I wanted to know everything there is to know about healthy eating and losing weight the healthy way.

It was then that I realized my “Newfound Momentum“.

My New Goal!

It was at that moment that I realized my goal in life is to help others. Help others lose weight by eating healthy, help others get fit with workouts for everyone. Help others with positive affirmations and helpful tips on daily mental health.

My New Goal!

My goal is to help others! I will help others. It seems so crystal clear now.

I will continue to post daily on my primary and secondary platforms. I do not lack any posting ideas as I have a plethora of ideas just hanging around in my head. It is amazing that when you are passionate about a subject that you do not have to search for ideas to post about.  I now have the newfound momentum I have been wanting.

Are you struggling with momentum in your business. What are you doing to help correct that. Let me know in the comments as I would love to hear from you.

Till next time

  1. What I’m doing to keep my momentum going is focusing on the one thing I know I need to do right now, which is find traffic and build an audience. And I’m just not worrying about all the other stuff that I know I’ll need to get to, but I don’t need to get to right now.

  2. Hi, Sherri!
Congratulations on finding your stride and your niche!
I happened upon some motivation outside of my business this week. While doing some research on a possible niche, I came across a classic literature book club. It’s incredible! I’m really excited about being a part of it. To do so, though, I need to make progress in my business so I can allot free time to read. So, I have an exciting outside interest that is helping me zero in on my business and use my time wisely.
My hopes and many well wishes to you and your husband on this health journey.

  7. Hi Sherri,
Sometimes it’s the darnest things that will get us to move. I’m pretty much like you; I’ve had all these opportunities and online education and it seems as if I’ve been going in circles instead of towards my goal.
When I sat down with my wife last week and we discussed all of this, some parts weren’t easy but necessary.
She mentioned how I was losing so much time on the internet and then I found this gem by a colleague here at IP: “Will it make the boat go faster?” – enough said! There’s the motivation.
Wishing you all the best and sending strength to your husband!

  8. Sherri your new motivation really shows up in your writing! I’m super excited for you as you move ahead. Wishing you and your husband all the best on this journey!

  9. I am so pleased that you have found a new focus. It is commendable that you are striving to help others and at the same time enabling your husband to be in a much better position for his transplant possibilities. I wish you both all the best!

  10. Sherri, you share one of my passions. Living and eating healthy.

A Mediterranean diet is what turned some recent numbers around for me.

Also this gut of mine is apparently what happens to us older guys. I’m not willing to accept that cold truth. So, I’m looking for a turnaround in weight as well.

Good luck to you and your hubby.

  11. Hi Sherri – Momentum! What a powerful word that is as long as it is used to move us forward and not just a word. Like you were using your momentum from the news that you received to not only help your loved one but also to help others. This is powerful in itself!
